day 27

breakfast:
1/4 cup of my leftover smoothie from yesterday plus:

i stopped by whole foods because their organic blueberries were on sale for $1.99 (usually $4.99)! i stocked up on some other goodies too...goji berries, oats, walnuts, raw cacao nibs, and more brazil nuts. i used some of these items, along with some pumpkin seeds, to make an energizing trail mix.

lunch:

vegetarian potstickers (cooked a but well done - whoops!)
tofu fried in sesame oil
roasted seaweed

snacking and de-stressing:

it was nearly 90 degrees today so thought i'd cool down with some organic watermelon, a cold bottle of water, a fan blowing directly in front of me, and ross matthews between my legs.

pre-dinner:
apple threw a company party for ry's department at the club level of at&t park. free booze, an endless buffet of food, pictures with the world series trophies, and behind-the-scenes tour of the ballpark. i snacked on marinated vegetables (mushrooms, olives, bell peppers) and corn tortillas.

dinner:
we met up with theresa and mark at hakkasan. i had called ahead to confirm if their vegetarian dishes were vegan as well (no oyster or fish sauce used). we heard mixed things about this place so our expectations were low. i was blown away!

stir-fry lotus root, asparagus and lily bulb - fresh vegetables with a crunch in a clean and light sauce
stir-fry vegetarian chicken in black pepper sauce - amazingly crispy and tasted NOTHING like your standard meat substitue product!
vegetarian dim sum platter: morel crystal dumpling, bamboo dumpling, beancurd lotus roll, chive flower dumpling - beautifully presented, full of flavor and textures, mouth watering dumplings.

we met up with farrah and the rest of the group who were celebrating taich's birthday.

exercise:
nothing of the traditional sense, but laughing and spending time with the people you're closest to has to account for something. i have a handful of close girlfriends - friends who have been through good times and bad. theresa is one of those people who you can depend on no matter what. if it's a good laugh, sound advice, or just comfort...she's there. and i'm so happy that she's here even if it was just for a weekend.
